Rolls-Royce Phantom

The Rolls-Royce Phantom carries a long line of lineage on its shoulders, with a name that has been around since 1925, making it the longest running production vehicle name in history. A self-proclaimed ‘Best Car in the World,’ the Phantom has cocooned its passengers in opulence for 92 years. With the current seventh generation dating back to 2003, it’s been getting a bit long in the tooth. To transport the next generation of the one per cent of the one per cent, Rolls-Royce unveils the new either generation Phantom.

Although the shape may seem familiar, the new Phantom is all new, riding on a new chassis that will underpin all future Rolls-Royce models. The design closely follows the seventh-generation’s art deco theme, maintaining a timeless and elegant design, but with cleaner and more purposeful lines gracing the surface.

Inside, being the flagship Rolls-Royce, the Phantom takes luxury to new heights, replacing the slabs of wood traditionally found on the dashboards with what Rolls calls ‘The Gallery’ — an uninterrupted swathe of glass that runs the full width of the dashboard, which can also be customized with individual art pieces.

At the heart of the new car is a 6.75-liter V12, but driver and passengers will be hard pressed to hear the unit as the car boasts being the most silent car in the world.
