클래식한 라인, 매력적인 볼륨이 당신의 마음을 사로잡을지니.

1930년대, 르망 24시를 주름잡던 벤틀리 스피드 6에서 영감을 받아 제작된 ‘벤틀리 EXP 10 스피드 6 콘셉트’가 2015년 제네바 모터쇼에서 모습을 드러냈다. 트랜스포머의 귀염둥이 범블비를 디자인한 한국인 디자이너 이상엽 디렉터가 벤틀리 익스테리어 디자인 총괄책임을 맡은 첫 프로젝트이기도 해 더욱 흥미롭다.
클래식한 디자인 라인과 매력적인 볼륨 덕분에 2인승 스포츠카 임에도 불구하고 벤틀리 특유의 위엄이 잘 드러나는 작품이다. 왠지 무릎을 꿇고 맞은편 신부님에게 고해성사해야 할 것 같은 모양의 그릴과 럭셔리 스포츠카라는 것에 비해 굉장히 정직한 헤드램프가 조금 아쉽긴 하지만 매우 좋은 스탠스의 사이드 프로파일과 차체의 볼륨을 잘 살려주는 라인들이 모터쇼에 온 많은 이들의 시선을 사로잡기엔 충분한 듯하다. 향후 벤틀리의 새로운 라인업으로 출시될 가능성이 있다고 하니 양산형은 얼마나 옷매무새를 더 다듬고 나올지 한번 기대해 보자.
Inspired by the Le Mans dominating Bentley Speed 6 from the 1930s, the British carmaker drops the Bentley EXP 10 Speed 6 at the 2015 Geneva Motor Show. Despite the car being a strict two seater, the concept car retains much of the classic Bentley lines that we have seen in recent Bentleys, especially the Continental GT. The grill and circular headlights dominate the front end, yet still feels like a Bentley without compromising its two seater profile. The word on the street is that this concept was made to test the waters for a new smaller vehicle in the Bentley lineup so be sure to keep an eye out for future production Bentleys that might look strikingly similar to the EXP 10 Speed 6.
