Audi H-Tron Quattro Concept

First hydrogen fuel cell vehicle for Audi, the H-Tron Quattro Concept previews the direction that Audi is keen on exploring.

This bright-yellow squat SUV that is low to the ground is Audi’s first foray into the world of hydrogen powered cars. Introduced at the 2016 North American International Auto Show in Detroit, it’s called the Audi H-Tron Quattro Concept and previews the direction that Audi is keen on exploring, stylistically as well as technologically.

Audi is not going into production with this now, due to a lack of global network for hydrogen fuel cell vehicles, but Audi seems to be hopeful about a production version by the end of the decade. It trumps most electric cars in terms of the time it takes to refuel the car, at only four minutes. Inside, it previews new technologies that will make its way into the next generation Audi A8, including a full suite of semi-autonomous driving aids possible thanks to sensors, scanners, and cameras, so we will see bits and pieces of the concept car on the road soon.
