For high profile individuals, an armored vehicle can be a necessity. Luxury sedans, limousines, and even SUVs tend to lend themselves as great armored vehicles, but what if you wanted to take a more subtle approach? Most would not think of the Peugeot 205 GTI as a likely candidate for armoring, but for a certain individual, this was the perfect everyday runabout that could use some extra protection.

Available through Art & Revs, this armored Peugeot 205 GTI was purchased new in 1990 by Bernard Arnault, chairman and CEO of LVMH, the world’s largest luxury-goods company. This understated armored vehicle was his personal car that drove himself anonymously on a daily basis. He ordered specialist company Labbé to fit this small French hot hatch with Level 2 armoring, which added more than half-a-ton of weight to the vehicle. Although no longer agile and nimble like the 205 GTI it was based upon, this vehicle came with luxuries such as power steering and leather upholstery, but most importantly that extra level of protection.

Sold to a collector in 2009 but still registered under Mr. Arnault’s name, this is a truly unique version of a highly sought-after vehicle that’s available for €37,500.
