Cadillac revamps their flagship sedan and infuses concept car design with the new 2019 Cadillac CT6 V-Sport.
The new range-topper features their brand new twin-turbo 4.2-liter V8 engine also represents a facelift for the CT6 range. It employs the latest version of Cadillac’s design aesthetic to envelop the new engine. The V8 is capable of 550hp and 627 ft-lbs of torque.
A new powerplant incorporates a “hot-V” configuration in which the turbochargers are placed between the heads in a move to eradicate turbo lag while still reducing the packaging. All the power of the 4.2-liter V8 is concentrated on each of the four wheels through its 10-speed automatic transmission. Cadillac has also revised the torque split of its all-wheel drive system for better handling and traction. A mechanical limited slip rear differential and V-Sport specific suspension with modified Magnetic Ride Control dampers ensure handling characteristics that are unlike that of Cadillacs of old.
New design updates have been inspired by the gorgeous Escala concept, resulting in the vehicle looking more menacing than ever. With the performance and looks to support it, the 2019 Cadillac CT6 V-Sport presents a new worthy flagship for the luxury brand.
