When Italian Ferrari dealer Romano Artioli resurrected Bugatti in 1987, the venerable French car manufacturer had been dormant for 35 years. Determined to bring Bugatti back to its former glory, Artioli worked with a team of leading automotive designers and engineers for a period of four years to unveil the fruits of their labor on Ettore Bugatti’s 110th birthday. Appropriately enough, the car was dubbed the EB110.

Two years later, the team boosted the power of this exceptional car even further, optimizing its existing 3.5-litre V12 with a new engine control unit that featured larger injectors and a more efficient exhaust system. This new and improved EB110, the EB110 Super Sport, also weighed a full 150 kilograms less.

Approaching the auction block at RM Sotheby’s, the silver and black 1994 Bugatti EB110 Super Sport is capable of producing 610 horsepower and going from 0 to 60 in just 3.26 seconds. It tops out at speeds that exceed 220 miles per hour.
