Haters can hate on Tag Heuer all day, but there’s no denying Heuer’s rich racing history, delivering some iconic watches over the past 158 years. Among those icons, the 1960s Carrera chronograph has to be the most memorable. Now, the legendary Carrera is getting a reinterpretation from prominent Japanese designer Hiroshi Fujiwara, the founder of the disruptive design studio Fragment.

Despite his streetwise reputation and radical tendencies, Fujiwara has taken a fairly restrained approach for this project, staying true to the classic Carrera design with a retro-inspired black chronograph dial. The 39mm case is composed of polished steel with an AR-coated domed sapphire crystal.

The Tag Heuer Carrera Hiroshi Fujiwara has a transparent back that allows a mesmerizing view of its vertical clutch, column wheel, circular oscillating weight and other mechanical features. Each unit sold comes with two straps – black alligator leather and a nylon strap.
