Pelton Sector Nickel Silver Limited Edition
Gear Dec 19 2018
Available in a limited run of just 20 pieces, the handcrafted dial on the Pelton Sector looks like something from ancient Greece. Crafted from nickel silver (an alloy made from copper, nickel, and zinc), the beautiful eponymous sector dial of the the Pelton Sector is the result of a 6-hour-long multi-step process, from CNC machining to bead-blasting, laser etching, and heat treating, before applying the hand-brushed finish. And all this is done entirely by Pelton’s founder Deni Mesanovic himself.
The 40mm Pelton Sector is powered by the top-grade ETA 2824-2, but each watch is regulated to chronometer standards of +/-4 seconds per day, and the time-and-date movement has been modified to be time-only. This is a nice touch, since many time-only watches from respectable brands that use this movement still have an unutilized date function hidden behind the dial (which you can’t see but can feel clicking when you turn the crown, inevitably cheapening the feel of watch). Not to mention that the movement is also highly decorated, visible through the exhibition case back.
The signature decagonal crown is familiar from other Pelton releases, as is the 100m of water resistance. The Sector Nickel Silver is available in a variety of leather band colors, each finished with a hidden deployment clasp.
