The BMW i3 and BMW i3S models are getting a major facelift for the 2018 model year.
The German automaker is still blending style, sophistication and sustainability in creating the vehicle-of-tomorrow today in its i3 line — but with more electric range. Ideal for the city dweller, the line is packed full of innovative technologies to keep drivers connected on the road as they get from Point A to Point B — but for longer distances between recharges. And the performance is nothing to sneeze at, either. The i3S, for instance, can go 0 to 62 mph in less than 7 seconds and reach a maximum speed of up to 99 mph. It’s designed to operate over a range of about 125 miles on a single charge. That’s an increase from the 2017 i3’s 114 mile range.
Still don’t think that range will work for you? No problem — you can opt for an add-on range extender that incorporates fuel into the drivetrain to get up to 205 miles for a little extra.
In addition to its electric drivetrain, the 2018 BMW i3 and i3S are also constructed from lightweight materials. The platforms are built to give the vehicle a low center of gravity, which thereby enhances the performance and agility of the vehicle. The new i3 and i3S are chock full of sustainable design while still providing a highly satisfying driving experience.
