2016 Dodge Viper ACR

It’s kind of scary to know that Chrysler’s management almost completely dropped the Dodge Viper line after the company ran into financial trouble following the DaimlerChrysler split in 2007. The Viper targets a distinctly niche customer group, wealthy car racing fanatics who are mostly proud to be American, and it’s not always easy to make a fortune with such a narrow marketing scope. Despite all the commotion surrounding the muscle car, Chrysler recognized something special and symbolic in the Viper line and thankfully continues on the tradition. This time Chrysler is returning with the Dodge Viper ACR (American Club Racer). You can tell by the acronym, the ACR is essentially a beasty track version of the already monstrous Viper that produces enormous downforce with its large adjustable rear-wing and a detachable extension for the front splitter. The Viper ACR is powered by an 8.4-litre V10 engine producing 645 horsepower and 600 pound-feet of torque that is capable of outrunning any sports car from any country.
