August 2, 1971. Apollo 15 made history by becoming the fourth manned mission in the Apollo program to land on the moon. On the astronaut’s wrists were Bulova moon pilot chronograph watches, customized for lunar conditions by Bulova engineers. More than 40 years have passed since Apollo 15’s mission, yet the Bulova Moon Watch still remains as a piece of history, with an original chronograph selling for a whopping $1.6 million at auction.

Updated to meet modern standards, Bulova re-introduces the watch with a special edition Moon Watch with their exclusive high performance quartz movement with a frequency of 262 kHz for better accuracy. It features super-luminous hands and markers, anti-reflective sapphire glass, tachymeter and calendar all housed in a solid 316L surgical-grade stainless steel case in silver-tone with black dial. The special edition Moon Watch also comes with two interchangeable straps — a textured black leather version and a black nylon version with a nubuck leather patch that commemorates the date of mission (DOM) as 08021971.
